'**** off and leave it alone’

Yesterday we reported that The Sun reported (see how we’re covering our backs here?) that The Stone Roses were set to get back together, after John Squire and Ian Brown were reunited at the funeral of bassist Mani’s mum. Well it turns out of was a load of rubbish, and Mani isn’t very happy about it.

Understandably the Primal Scream bassist is upset at the fact that people have been reporting on what happened at the funeral of his mum – two old friends settling their differences – has been blown up into something of a nostalgia-fest, with ageing indie types hoping to relive their youth one last time.

‘I'm disgusted that my personal grief has been invaded and hijacked by these nonsensical stories,’ he said. ‘Two old friends meeting up after 15 years to pay their respects to my mother does not constitute the reformation of The Stone Roses. Please f*** off and leave it alone. It isn't true and isn't happening.’
