Adam Levine was hit by a 'sugar bomb' in LA outside the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday. The Maroon 5 singer was signing autographs for fans along with his bandmates when he was covered by a load of powdered sugar.
Levine was photographed in absolute shock in the aftermath of the sugar landing on him and covering half of his face along with his clothes. He did not react to the event though and security guards stepped in and restrained the attacker before police took him in.
In an ironic turn of events for the band that have a huge hit called Sugar, the sugar bomb landed right before the band were due on stage on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Reports indicate that a 36 man was arrested for the incident at the time and was later charged with battery.
A witness to the incident, Laura Tijerina explained to CNN the series of events from her perspective saying "It looked like he wanted to fight the guy. I think this guy had it planned. It was a brown bag with tape around it, which was weird. I just saw powder everywhere. It was just so quick."
However, the show must always go on and Levine dusted himself down and he made no comment about the incident in his chat with Jimmy Kimmel. Maroon 5 then performed Sugar much to the delight of fans. A statement from ABC read "Immediately after the incident occurred, Jimmy Kimmel Live security followed protocol and alerted LAPD, who responded quickly and are looking into the situation."
