Album finished - let's throw it into a ditch

Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire has said that he tried to get the band to scrap publishing their latest album Journal For Plague Lovers, as he found it difficult to deal with releasing work missing band mate Richey Edwards' on it – even after they'd finished it.

'I said “Let's just fucking dig a hole and bury it and make it even more of an art statement, say we've made this great album, but it's just too much to give away,”' he said. But the other band members weren't so keen.

'James (Dean Bradfield, lead singer and guitarist) was like; “After I've done all that work? Fuck off!”' That's that sorted then.
