Avril Lavigne (remember her?) has revealed that she’d like to have a career like Madonna’s.
The Canadian singer is preparing for the release of Goodbye Lullaby, her fourth studio album, and, by way of publicity, has said that it would be great if her career was like that of Madonna, who has released 11 albums across a career spanning 27 years.
Interviewed in the Daily Record, the singer told of her dreams of longevity. She said: ‘I definitely can see myself still being out there in 20 years' time.
‘I want to be around the way Madonna has done it. She's had her life but still maintained her career throughout.’
‘Asked what she thought the secret was, she explained: ‘Well, it's like you go away and you come back. I put out a record, I'm around doing a million things and then I shut up and go away.’
‘I think it's good to change but it's better if it's a natural progression rather than being forced.’
