Babyshambles set to record with the La's

The La's are set to record the long awaited follow-up to their classic self-titled album and according to the NME, frontman Lee Mavers is set to use Pete Doherty and Babyshambles as his backing band.

Mavers, the notoriously difficult songsmith behind the La's, is said to have been working on new material for almost 10 years. It's almost 20 years since the Liverpool band released their one and only album but the La's still boast a large following.

Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek spoke to the NME about being asked to work with Mavers: "Lee said how much he loved what we do, how we play, how we look. Then Pete said Lee wants us to be his backing band."
