BBC Radio2 shake-up

It’s been just over 2 years since the media-pooh storm that was Sachsgate (we still think it should have been called ‘Waiter-gate’) was the only important news on the planet.

One of the execs made to walk the plank in the aftermath was Radio 2 & 6 Music controller Lesley Douglas. She was later replaced by 5 Live controller Bob Shennan and he has just confirmed a little schedule shake-up at his two new stations.

Long standing Radio 1 presenter Jo Whiley will be leaving Radio 1 after 17 years to host a new series of shows on Radio 2, from Monday-Wednesday 8pm-9:30pm taking over from Radcliffe & Maconie. This paves the way for Radcliffe & Maconie to move to 6 Music to take over the Monday-Friday early afternoon slot. The changes will come into place in April.
