Carl Barat solo album deets

It's common knowledge that when it comes to the Libertines, the talented one of the front duo is and has always been Pete Doherty, and not his partner in crime Carl Barat. That said, when either one of them announces deets about some new music, the world takes note.

While Pete Doherty has enjoyed huge success (much more than the superior Libertines ever did) with Babyshambles, Carl Barat has struggled to make a real impression with his band Dirty Pretty Things. He’s now going to have another attempt, this time as a solo artist. According to news today, Barat will release his debut solo album in October and will go on a two week UK tour to accompany it, as well as penning a book of memoirs.

Nothing more is known about the album but the tour dates are: Coalition, Brighton (15 Oct), The Haymakers, Cambridge (16), Sugarmill, Stoke On Trent (17), Rescue Rooms, Nottingham (18), Digital, Newcastle (20), Oran Mor, Glasgow (21), Cockpit, Leeds (22), Deaf Institute, Manchester (23), Slade Room, Wolverhampton (25), Thekla, Bristol (26), Scala, London/(27).

More importantly, The Libertines have already been confirmed to play two-off shows at this years Reading/Leeds Festivals.
