Find cheap Lion King tickets for the new West End show

There's nothing quite like the magic of a live show at the theatre. Kids and parents alike love them, even though the latter may be less than forthcoming when it comes to admitting it, and with the quality of shows running on a daily basis in London's West End we find ourselves spoiled for choice.

The latest show to get rave reviews from audience and critics alike has been the new take on Disney's classic animated feature The Lion King, adapted for stage by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi.

Although it's unlikely that any of you don't know the story of The Lion King it follows the turbulent life of Simba, son of ruling King Mufasa. Following Mufasa's death at the hands of his brother Scar, Simba finds himself exiled to the Outlands, and if he returns he will face death by Scar.

A coming of age story, we witness Simba as he grows into maturity, meeting a range of colourful characters along the way, before finally plucking up the courage to return to his home to face Scar and take his rightful place as King.

The story is told thanks to a cast of more than forty excellent actors, aided by masks, costumes and puppets, and a beautifully realised set built by designer Julie Taymor and her dedicated team.

The music comes from Sir Elton John and Tim Rice, whose beautiful pieces narrate the tale perfectly, creating a real sense of magic throughout.

The show runs six days a week, with evening shows Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm and matinee shows on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 .30pm.
