Cobain in Guitar Hero is wrong, says Bon Jovi

A growing number of complaints about the use of Kurt Cobain in Guitar Hero 5 has prompted leather-loving Jon Bon Jovi to step in and give his penny’s worth.

Former Nirvana bandmates Kris Novoselic and Dave Grohl were outraged over the use of his image as a cartoon character singing other people’s songs (which no doubt would have the man himself spinning in his grave), while Courtney Love threatened to sue; or at least until she was found out to have signed the contract allowing it to happen (giving herself a bad name there). Even Jovi, one of Cobain’s most hated hair rockers, has come in to support the cause of the dead rock icon’s friends, saying he wouldn’t have wanted it: dead or alive (sorry).

‘I don't know that I would have wanted it either,’ he told the BBC. ‘To hear someone else's voice coming out of a cartoon version of me? I don't know. It sounds a little forced.

‘I had the paperwork (to feature in the game), they wanted me to be on that game and I just passed. But no-one even broached the subject with me that I would be singing other people's stuff. I don't know how I would have reacted to that. I don't know that I would have wanted it either.’
