Dear tabloid media FILTH...

Someone has obviously rubbed Katy Perry up the wrong way over the last few weeks: the pop superstar launched into a rant about lying tabloid rags after a tweet of hers regarding product placement in pop videos was twisted in order to make her look like she was having a go at Britney Spears.

Perry tweeted about stars using product placement in order to afford bigger budget videos, saying 'Do it [with] style & grace...Not so in ur face like some. U hv to get creative [with] it. Some artists don't care tho, & u can tell.' Some people assumed she was talking about Britney Spears accepting $300,000 to use website Plenty Of Fish in her video for 'Hold It Against Me', but Perry has denied that, and called the tabloid media 'filth' in the process. She's got a point, mind you.

'Dear tabloid media aka FILTH: pls note I expressed an overall feeling bout product placement, their roles in vids & the art of them being complimenting or sticking out,' said Perry. 'Most, if not ALL popstars welcome deals [with] products 2 offset costs of big budget vids in these recessional music industry times.

'I'VE used them in MY vids before & am happy 2b able 2 make a better vid because of. Once AGAIN, stop pitting artists.. against artist for ur sensational satisfaction & stick to what ur best @: lying, gossiping, exaggerating & overall lending a hand 2 the deterioration of a generation.'
