DJ Megatron shot dead

The hip-hop world was reeling again today after it was revealed that well-regarded New York DJ Megatron was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 32-year-old DJ, also known as Corey McGriff, who was the host of BET’s (Black Entertainment Television) ‘What’s Good’, was shot while on his way to a store on New York City’s Staten Island. He was later found dead with a shotgun wound to the chest. No arrests have yet been made.

Since his death fans have poured their condolences for a man well known for his promotion of up-and-coming artists, mostly through Facebook and Twitter.

‘Mega's family is grateful for all of the condolences and warm thoughts of his fans and friends,’ said a statement released by McGriff’s manager, Regg Rocc. ‘Please continue to uplift your prayers of support as an ongoing investigation is currently being conducted by law enforcement officials.’
