Doing it for themselves

Graham Coxon has clarified rumours that Blur are back in rehearsal. The nimble fingered guitar man has explained that Blur regularly reconvene and sometimes ‘switch a tape recorder on’, though there’s no specific release in the pipeline.

‘Every now and then we like to meet up and record a few things,’ he told NME. ‘We just do stuff when we feel like it.’

But while the news that Blur are regularly meeting up will excite fans, Coxon cruelly scuppered the idea of new music being released.

‘I suppose it might turn into an LP in six years or something,’ he said. ‘Meeting up every now and then… maybe turning the tape recorder on and jamming around a few ideas.’

But fans of Coxon’s solo material won’t have to wait that long - two new albums are already in the offing.
