First night of Britney's Femme Fatale tour

Britney Spears' Femme Fatal tour is kicking off its UK leg in London's O2 Arena tonight.

Hundreds of unsold tickets may be an omen of things to come.

The last time Britney took to a UK stage, she was plagued with criticism for lip syncing. She explained that this was necessary due to her energetic dance routines.

However, it seems that even these routines have become lacklustre, with one fan commentating after the Dublin show: "The once sultry singer has somehow lost her rhythm — so much so that she was mostly wheeled around the stage on various items to cover this up."

There are reports that tickets for her Birmingham show were selling so slowly that promoters had to knock £25 off the price.

It's not all bad news for the troubled singer, however. Her latest album went straight to the top of the US Billboard - and she is reported to have earned over £30 million last year.
