Flo and Dizzee versus Haiti

For any artist that performs at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party - AKA The Brit Awards, one thing is 100% guaranteed; no matter how good, bad, or indifferent their performance, record sales will go through the roof.

As expected this has been the case for the artists who played last week’s back slapping bash, with Florence & The Machine and Dizzee Rascal benefiting the most. Their dirtee little ditty, ‘You Got The Dirtee Love’ has gone straight into the UK singles chart at number 2 with only the Helping Haiti ‘Everybody Hurts’ stopping them from taking the top spot.

Other beneficiaries from a Brits performance are Lady Gaga whose album ‘The Fame’ re-entered the charts at number 2 and Robbie Williams ‘Reality Killed The Video Star’, climbing from 21 up to 8. ‘The Blueprint 3’ from Jay-Z went from 22 to 10, Lily Allen’s album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ 28 to 19, and Kasabian’s West Ryder Puper Lunatic Asylum’ 63-20.
