Four dead as stage colapses

Four people have died and at least 40 people were injured after a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair, caused by a violent storm that descended on Indianapolis.

The stage collapsed at 9pm local time after strong winds of 60pm struck the venue, as some of the 12,000 revellers were being evacuated from the Grandstand. Some people were also rapped under the wreckage.

'It was the worst thing I have witnessed in my life,' said a witness to the BBC. 'We could see the sky get really dark and there was lightning and thunder. It almost seemed like a hurricane hit out of nowhere. The stage just leaned to the right and crashed down. It felt to me like it was in slow motion. Everyone was scrambling and it was horrifying because you knew people were underneath it.'
