Gaga promises multimedia release for new album
Lady Gaga has been discussing her plans for her next album ARTPOP. She already created a small stir by admitting that the vocals were recorded in the nude. Now she has ambitious plans for releasing the album in various formats, as a "multimedia experience".
"The most major way to fully immerse yourself in ARTPOP is through the app," she announced on her Little Monsters fans’ network. "ARTPOP will be released as an iPad, iPhone, mobile and computer compatible application that is completely interactive with chats, films for every song, extra music, content, GaGa-inspired games, fashion updates, magazines, and more still in the works!"
As the bulk of her albums are still sold off supermarket shelves, ARTPOP will also be available in CD and download form, although she emphasised that these would be different to the app version. She wants to make the music as interactive as possible, and has plans to provide regular updates and additions to the album app.
"You inspired me to create something that communicated with images," she wrote, "because you do, you communicate with me and each other with .gifs and pictures, and artwork, graphics all day, 24/7. You're an ARTPOP generation. I'm hoping you will all continue to grow together and stay connected through your creativity."
Gaga is in the UK for the British leg of her Born This Way tour, with dates in London and Manchester. In addition to finishing the album, she also has to find time to launch her new fragrance and appear in the Robert Rodriguez film Machete Kills.
