Gerry Rafferty, RIP

Yesterday the world of film mourned Pete Postlethwaite. Today it's the music world's turn with the death of singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty.

The singer - best known for his hits 'Baker Street' and 'Stuck in the Middle With You' - died peacefully at home this morning, the NME reports. He was 63.

Rafferty's career recieved a boost in the 1990s when two of his old hits were featured in films - 'Stuck in the Middle With You' in Reservoir Dogs, and 'Baker Street' in Good Will Hunting. But his recent years were overshadowed by a long battle with alcoholism. He's survived by his daughter Marina.
