Gordon isn’t a moron?

If you didn’t know, the General Election is on May 6th and according to the latest polls it’s going to be the closest fought race to Downing Street since er, the last closest fought race to 10 Downing Street. Anyway, this means that for the next 4 weeks the Labour Party, Conservative and Lib Dems will do all they can to canvas departments to gain extra votes.

The latest vote-for-me-tactic comes from current PM Gordon Brown who told Radio Times that not only should BBC radio 6 Music not be axed but that it is his favourite station out of Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music. He said; ‘definitely 6 Music. Definitely.’

Talking like a politician possessed, he also backed the BBC at what they do best: ‘I think, personally, that the BBC should not have succumbed to pressure to cut certain things – but they have. Because it's the next stage you worry about. The Conservatives have said that they'll hive off Radio 1.’

He added: ‘A lot of things that the BBC does are incredibly creative and quite risky. But this is a necessary means of us being a creative society. I want to safeguard the independence of the BBC, and I think the licence fee is the means by which you do it.’

Wow! Next he'll be telling us his favourite band are the Arctic Monkeys *what? He did that last election?*
