Gorillaz ‘Stylo’ VIDEO

As far as Gorillaz go they are a near pitch perfect group of musos. They think forward in the musical department thanks to Damon Albarn and forward in the animation department thanks to co-hort Jamie Hewitt. They are as complimentary as double acts go and if you know a band better making music today, let us know.

Their 3rd album Plastic Beach is HUGE. We’ve heard it and you can too, here. It features a multitude of interesting and mind boggling collaborations including Snoop Dogg, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Kano, Bashy, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, Gruff Rhys, De La Soul, Little Dragon, Mark E. Smith, Lou Reed and The Clash. OUCH!

The first single is the mega low-fi grower ‘Stylo’ which sees vocal duties being shared between Damon, Mos Def and Bobby Womack. The track has been buzzing around for a few weeks though until now with no video to go with it.

While many music vids are turgid style-over-content pieces dreamt up by an upstart director (Coldplay & Radiohead exempt), with Hewitt behind the lens of this one, it's a mini epic that Tarantino would dribble over. Take a look

It’s also the first time we get to see the usual 2D band use 3GI and go 3D. Oh, and before we forget, it also features none other that Bruce friggin Willis.
