Guns N' Roses tour dates announced

Ageing rockers Guns N' Roses tread the boards once more on a UK arena tour in May. They are interrupting work on a new album to play the UK dates, as part of a European tour.

The tour runs from May 19 to May 31 and takes in Nottingham Capital FM Arena (May 19), Liverpool Echo Arena (20), Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (23), Glasgow SECC (25), Birmingham LG Arena (26), Manchester Evening News Arena (29) and London O2 Arena (31).

There is still some speculation about which musicians actually comprise Guns N’ Roses these days. The original classic line-up is rumoured to be performing together at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in April.

Keyboardist Dizzy Reed didn’t exactly specify what would be happening when he spoke to Billboard: "I know that all the original band is going to be there," he said. "I don't know exactly what's going to go down. It's one of those things I'm sure will all come together and be really cool."

Pressed for details, Reed admitted that frontman Axl Rose had not been in touch with original members Slash, Duff MacKagan or Steven Adler about performing at the induction ceremony.

If that sounds a little shambolic, it’s as well to remember that this was a band who took so long to record their last album that they ended up entitling it Chinese Democracy in ironic tribute to another thing the world has to wait a long time for.

Tickets for all the UK dates go on sale on March 3 at 9am.
