Jack White for Glastonbury

Another day, another dollar and another act confirmed to play this year’s Glastonbury Festival. The legendary festival is no stranger to causing a buzz with music lovers / drug takers [delete where applicable] but this year has the added edge of it being 40 years since the first hippyies swarmed Worthy Farm. Hence head organiser Emily Eavis has pulled out all the stops and lined up three titans to headline – U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder.

Today the festival’s official website Glastonbury.co.uk has announced that Jack White’s part time project The Dead Weather will play on Saturday on the Pyramid Stage, before the main event - Muse. Emily Eavis said: ‘we're always honoured to have Jack White at the festival and he's given us some amazing sets over the years with The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. The Dead Weather played a surprise set in The Park last year which blew everyone away, so we can't wait to see them on the Pyramid Stage this year. Welcome back Jack!’

Glastonbury Festival 2010 takes place 25th-27th June. If you haven’t got a ticket then you’ll have to make do with watching at home on the Beeb.
