Jack White signs Laura Marling

So that’s it! Another Glastonbury festival been and gone; by all accounts it was a belter. It’s agreed the highlights of the Somerset festie were Radiohead’s surprise mini-gig on the Park Stage and Stevie Wonder’s emotional finale on the Pyramid stage, but according to Jack White that isn’t the case.

The White Stripes leader was seen watching and loving Brit folk singer Laura Marling performing over the weekend and has today revealed that he’s such a fan, he's been working with her in his recording studio in Nashville. Talking about the session to BBB Newsbeat the axe-man said; ‘it was perfect – one take. She's gorgeous. Gorgeous voice and an incredible person. A wonderful girl.’

Adding; ‘if people are coming through town [Nashville] I try to catch up with them and ask them if they want to come by before their show and record something.’

He went on to confirm that his record label Third Man Records will release the untitled material and if you're not familiar with the sublime Laura Marling then you really should check out this performance of 'Goodbye England (Covered In Snow) on Later with Jool's Holland.
