Jammin’ with Mr Fallon

Hip-hop collective The Roots have asked Jimmy Fallon to host their seventh annual 'Jam Session' event.

The group are the house band on Fallon's late-night NBC TV show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

This year’s ‘Jam Session’ will take on the eve of the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, in Hollywood on February 12, as a precursor to the event.

The AP reports that it’ll feature a bevy of performances by musicians spanning several genres.

Previous hosts include John Legend, Don Cheadle, David Chappelle and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The Roots are up for six Grammy awards. They are hoping for a nod in the category of ‘Best Rap Album’ for How I Got Over, while the group’s collaboration with John Legend, 'Wake Up!', has been nominated for five awards.

We'll certainly be rooting for them.
