Japan benefit gig

If you were in London last night (3 April) there really was only one place you should have been, the unofficial benefit gig for Japan at the Brixton Academy.

As is often the case with benefit gigs it’s all about the worthy cause backed-up by a fair to middling musical bill but last night the music justified the cause. Organised by Liam Gallagher and Paul Weller, the fundraiser was headlined by Beady Eye, with support coming from The Jam man himself, Richard Ashcroft, Primal Scream, The Coral, Graham Coxon and Kelly Jones from the Stereophonics.

The event managed to raise a juicy £150,000 for the victims of the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami and saw some of the acts cover various Beatles tunes including this one from Beady Eye...
