Fret not J Lo fans, Jennifer Lopez is all set to perform at the opening ceremony for World Cup 2014 in Sao Paulo tomorrow night despite reports to the contrary. It had been made public that certain "production issues" meant that she would not be able to perform but these issues have now seemingly been put to bed.

Lopez will appear on stage alongside Pitbull and local girl Claudia Leitte singing We Are One, with support from local cultural band Olodum, as the final act in the ceremony. The event is expected to be a grandly choreographed affair with over 600 performers taking part in full dress rehearsals all this week.

A spokesperson explained "Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies. We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of football. She will be there!".

A FIFA spokesperson released the following statement which definitely has an air of relief to it: “FIFA and the Local Organising Committee are delighted to announce that we will have the full-line up of stars available to perform the Official Song ‘We Are One’ this Thursday at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. This is exciting news for not only those spectators who should arrive early and see the show live in the stadium but also for fans all over the world watching on TV.”.
