Julian Casablancas' new shows to be all 'Disney'

Strokes frontman and once king of all things indie rock related Julian Casablancas has announced that he’s going to be playing some shows in the UK to promote his new solo album Phrazes For The Young, which is out at the end of September.

The New Yorker has also said that he’s hoping for some ambitious stuff at his gigs, like set changes and lighting, which is apparently very Disney.

‘Will I play UK solo shows? Yeah, sure!' he shouted to the NME. 'It will probably be October, roughly, but yes! I'm in the process of figuring out what kind of show it's going to be. It's like anything, it's starting out probably a little bit too ambitious so we've got to figure out what we can and can't do and that will dictate how much touring happens. Ideally, I'm going to try to put on some over-the-top, amazing, Disney shows.

‘Not Disney, but you know how they have some amazing rides where you feel like you're in a weird world, like the Epcot Centre or something? I'm not thinking of the big Goofy costume but I was thinking of how those rides make you feel with lots of set changes and stuff. But that might not happen and we'll do straight shows, I haven't quite figured it out yet, it's the next thing to do.
