Keisha 'leaves' Sugababes

The music world was rocked this morning with the news that Keisha Buchanan was removed from The Sugababes, the group she had been in since its very start in 1998.

Last week it was reported that Amelle Berrabah had left the group because of her stormy working relationship with Keisha, but she was reinstated by Island, while Keisha – who has been accused of being very difficult to work with on more than one occasion in the past – ‘will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist’.

‘I've had a great time and achieved more than I ever thought I would,’ she said on her Twitter feed. ‘Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life.

‘There were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that led to this. Sometimes a breakdown in communication and lack of trust can result in many different things.

‘I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck. This is not the end... but the beginning!!!!’
