Lady Gaga forced to postpone tour and reveals joint inflammation problems

Mega pop star Lady Gaga has been forced to postpone three of her North American concert dates after announcing via Twitter that she is unable to walk and leaving millions of her fans fearing for her future well-being.

The singer was due to take her Born This Way Ball to Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton, Ontario this week, but an official statement released by Live Nation Global Touring following her concert in Montreal read : “due to a case of synovitis, (a severe inflammation of the joints), Lady Gaga’s doctor has ordered her to postpone The Born This Way Ball performances in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton.”

Long term occurrence of synovitis can result in degeneration of the affected joint and is linked to arthritis, lupus, gout and other conditions.

Back in 2010 the singer revealed that she had "tested borderline positive" for lupus [an autoimmune disease] saying that that she is genetically predisposed to the connective tissue disease but otherwise "shows [no] symptoms".

A more personal statement was also released by the 26-year old star and she posted the same message in a series of tweets to her over 34 million Twitter followers:

“I am completely devastated and heartsick. I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve.”

Gaga’s worried ‘little monster’ fans are giving all their support and love and hashtag #GetWellSoonGaga has become one of the trending topics on the social network.

According to the Gaga's website, the shows will be rescheduled, which gives hope that the popstar’s problems are only temporary, and bed rest and anti-inflammatory drugs will get her back into her Alexander McQueen platforms and performing again.
