Lady Gaga takes wrists with new band

The Lady Gaga machine is doing its bit to help out victims of last Friday’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan by taking advantage of the singer’s huge following to sell wristbands designed by the singer herself in order to raise relief funds.

The white ‘we pray for Japan’ bands cost 5 dollars each and are available at her online shop.

In order to drum up as much interest as possible, the Gagsmith told fans via her Twitter page that she’d designed the bands herself and insisted that all the proceeds would go towards the relief effort in the country.

‘Little Monsters, show your support for Japan with this wristband,’ she declared.

You can’t fault the Gaga for making use of her public persona on issues like this and the campaign to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in the States – though a relief song might have been more affective than wristbands.
