Lady GaGa to appear on The Simpsons

So it appears that Lady GaGa has finally made it into the world of the truly big time celeb: you can forget about sold out world tours, or multi-platinum albums; you're not a really big star until you've appeared on The Simpsons.

GaGa will join such luminaries as U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins and some bloke pretending to be Michael Jackson (remember that episode?) when the show goes out. It's not really worth watching any more, but what the hell, it's Lady GaGa! She rocks the house.

'I make music, but I don't do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor,' she said to Entertainment Weekly. 'That's what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines. I would say this is one of the coolest things I've ever done. My dad's probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.'
