Legal Gaga 2: The Fightback

Last week we reported that Lady Gaga’s former boyfriend and producer Rob Fusari was suing her for over $30million, claiming that he came up with her stage name and co-wrote a couple of her hit tunes. But now Gaga is fighting back, claiming in a separate lawsuit that he tricked her into signing an illegal contract.

The lawsuit says that the contract between the pair of them is invalid because he wasn’t a licensed talent agent. They want Fusari’s lawsuit thrown out and him to pay her damages for trying force an ‘inexperienced artist’ to ‘enter into an unlawful arrangement’ (in which she apparently agreed to give him rights to her future earnings), calling his actions ‘predatory and financially abusive.’

‘The ... arrangement was structured in such a way as to mask its true purpose,’ alleged Gaga’s suit, ‘to provide the defendant unlawful compensation for their services as unlicensed employment agents.’
