Leona Lewis is set to perform at Barack Obama's inauguration concert in Washington DC on January 20. The X Factor 2006 winner will join a host of big names such as Jay-Z, Beyonce and P Diddy to mark the start of the Obama presidency.
In the space of two years Lewis has gone from being an East End receptionist to a worldwide superstar. Her single Bleeding Love made her the first British female solo singer to hit the top spot in the US for twenty years.
The Simon Cowell backed chanteuse's début album Spirit also went in at No.1 in both the US and the UK. With an estimated million people set to attend the historic inauguration and countless other millions tuning in via the internet and TV, it looks as if Leona Lewis' star is set to rise even more.
