Lily Allen to quit music for fashion

Lily Allen has claimed that she is set to quit music to concentrate on acting and fashion. The Smile singer told BBC's Newsbeat that her gig next March with Dizzee Rascal will be her last for the foreseeable future.

Allen announced that she plans to open a fashion boutique in London with her sister Sarah which will be called Lucy In Disguise. 'It's about making fashion democratic,' the singer explained.

'That's the idea behind it. It's about getting really nice clothes, but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won't cost them a million dollars.'

The 24-year-old also revealed that she wants to launch her own record label: 'I'm going to get into signing new bands, but at a really early level. I don't want to compete with other record companies, but I want to support new artists.'

Allen claimed back in September that she was set to quit music following criticism over her stance on file sharing but her agent rebuffed the rumours. However, now it seems that Lily is going to stop performing live so catch her now if you're a fan.
