Lily branches out

Lily Allen’s proving that she’s a jack-of-all-trades by setting up a new record label.

The label, called In The Name Of, is backed by Sony, who have offered our Lil a lucrative £100,000 salary to keep her off the streets.

The firm has also shelled out for staff and an office, as well as offering the LDN singer one of its own A&R people.

The new label beat off fierce competition to make New York duo Cults its first signing

Lily has put her own recording projects on hold for the time being to concentrate on the fledgling label. By the by, her retro clothes shop Lucy In Disguise, which she founded in London with her sister, is going great guns.
