Find Lion King musical tickets in London

Not content with being one of the most successful animated Disney movies of all time, The Lion King has its sights set on the domination of London's up-market West End thanks to this wonderful musical.

Making its debut as far back as 1997 in Minneapolis' Orpheum Theatre, the show has gone on to gain rave reviews wherever it has been performed, and it is currently enjoying a long run in London's Lyceum theatre which started in 1999.

The blockbuster has spared no expense, featuring the music written by Elton John for the big screen version, as well as a musical score written by none other than Hans Zimmer. Directed by American Julie Taymor, the show is brilliantly executed, featuring puppets, colourful costumes and some breathtaking set design.

Despite the fact that it has been running almost 12 years at this stage, the show is currently booking until January 8th 2012, meaning you've got absolutely no excuse to miss it!

The show runs from Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm for its matinee performance. While tickets may seem a little pricey, there are some great rates available for block booking in groups.

For groups of more than 15 people, prices range from £29 to £57 (a £10 reduction on regular ticket prices) up until May 27th. From May 31st, the prices range from £49.50 to £31, again representing a £10 saving per ticket.

School groups of ten or more can book for shows from September 6th onwards for between £24.50 and £27, while the rate for OAP groups of ten or more is £34.50 for Wednesday evenings and matinees.
