It’s an interesting time for Liam Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye: not only has the critical reception to their first single been somewhat, well, vicious, but the levels of anticipation surrounding their debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ – released on 28 February – are hovering somewhere around their own ankles.
So it will be interesting to see what kind of demand their issue for quite a long tour of the British Isles, taking in some of the biggest and most important venues in the country (and Ireland). There’s every chance that a poor tour could see the band flop before they even get started, unless they really tap into the huge swathes of displaced Oasis fans.
