Manic Street Presenters

The Manic Street Preachers are taking up a residency on XFM next month, and the group have said that they'll be revealing some of their influences, as well as playing some old records that you don't hear anymore.

Nicky Wire and James Dean Bradfield will be on the airwaves between 9pm and 10pm every Sunday in May. The band are also promoting their ninth album, Journal for Plague Lovers, which contains lyrics from missing guitarist Richie Edwards.

'We don't get a chance to do mixtape parties because we're too old and we don't do compilations on our laptops,' said Bradfield. 'So it's a good chance to do our own disco.'

'It's nice to show where our inspiration comes from,' said Wire. 'Because sometimes they do it better than we can.'
