Miley Cyrus: Our Favourite 5 Singles

Miley Cyrus has been getting a bit of attention recently and not all of it great! First, there was the twerking incident at the VMA’s and now it is her latest video – Wreaking Ball. To get things back on the right track for our Miley we look at some of her best singles to date – and maybe she will remember that it’s her music we should be taking about!

The Climb

The Climb, from Hannah Montana: The Movie is one of Miley Cyrus’ most famous songs. The song was released in March 2009 to worldwide success. A cover of the song was released later that same year by winner of the X-Factor Joe McElderry and was also a hit song and one of the most successful debut songs of an X-Factor winner.

7 Things

7 Things was the lead single from Miley Cyrus’ second album, Breakout. It was released in June 2008 and lists the 7 things she hates about an un-named person. It was rumoured however that the song was about ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas. A rumour never confirmed or denied.

Party in the USA

Party in the U.S.A was the lead single from The Time of Our Lives EP. While the song was originally intended for Jessie J, it was passed to Miley when Jessie J did not feel it suited her. It seems though that Miley Cyrus wasn’t too keen on it either but despite this it was her best charting single so far having reached No 2 in the Billboard charts.

Can't be Tamed

Can’t be tamed is the title track from Miley’s third studio album Can’t be Tamed. The track was released in May 2010 and was a commercial success peaking in the top 10 Billboard and in other charts around the world. The song was performed on Britain’s Got Talent with a negative media reaction.

We Can't Stop

We can’t stop was a single from Miley’s latest album Bangerz. The song was released earlier this year and sees a shift in image to a more raunchy Miley – miles from her squeaky clean Hannah Montana image. The song was the one she performed in that famous VMA performance.
