Mozza finishes writing autobiography

Morrissey has finished writing his autobiography, and wants it on the shelves as soon as possible.

Interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row programme, the singer revealed the news.

‘How far am I [with writing the book]? Well, I've reached the re-drafting, trimming stage,’ he said.

He continued: ‘I've been through the whole life in many ways and I just wonder if 660 pages are too much for people to bear. And then I sit down and think, well, are six pages too much for people to bear? I really don't know. I'm trimming.’

While the enigmatic singer is yet to secure a publishing deal, there’s likely to be no shortage of takers. However, Morrissey told the interviewer that his preference would be for it to come out as a Penguin Classic. ‘I can't see why not,’ he said when pressed on the matter.

Later in the interviewer, Morrissey said that he can’t imagine retiring from singing, adding: ‘I'm just gonna carry on like the old blues singers and die onstage in Chicago probably.’
