MTV Europe Music Awards, winners & losers

Beyoncé was yelling in her best German accent last night, ICH BIN DREI BERLINER (she wasn’t really, it's just a very clever joke) after scooping 3 gongs at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, (geddit?)

Mrs J-Zed snatched the impressive ‘Best Female’ award beating off strong competition from Shakira and Leona Lewis and Lady Gaga in the process. She also bagged ‘Best Song’ for ‘Halo’ and ‘Best Video’ for ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It’).

Other accolades went to Eminem for ‘Best Male; Jay-Z for ‘Best Urban’; Green Day for ‘Best Rock;’ and somehow Placebo for ‘Best Alternative’.

The annual awards ceremony was hosted by Katy Perry and were held in Berlin to commemorate the 20th anniversary since vandals tore down the Berlin Wall, hence the World War phrase – lest we never forget! In tribute to the original wall which used to separate East and West Germany, it’s rumoured an exact brick-by-brick replica wall is to be built in its place.
