Nationwide revolt over X Factor 'Hallelujah' cover
While it’s understandable that the nation is addicted to the over dramatic but gripping nonsense that is X-Factor’, it’s pretty incomprehensible that people would actually go out and buy the pop-dribble created by the winner (see; Steve Brookstein).
This year’s ‘winners song’ ‘Hallelujah’ (a massacre of the Leonard Cohen classic made famous by Jeff Buckley) has caused such a hoo ha amongst Buckley fans that his version is once again number 43 in the UK singles chart in protest, without having been officially released.
Several Facebook groups have appeared urging fans to buy the Buckley version and boycott the X-Factor offering which will come out when the show ends. But the best part of the whole YouTube protest? This.
