Noel Gallagher: “I’m moving to Manchester”

When rock stars get rich it’s not unusual for them to upsticks and leave the drizzle of the British Isles for a sunnier tax haven (see Phil Collins and Robbie Williams.) However it’s rare for them to move back to the town that made them, as Noel Gallagher is reported to be doing with Manchester.

The former Oasis chief, who has lived in London since 1994, told The Evening Standard he wants to return to his home stomping ground; "I'm leaving London to go back up North, to Manchester. I've been advised to do a Rod Stewart, as in a tax exile, but I don't want to do it. But London has lost its spark."

We know Noely G quit Oasis after a bust-up with his brother Liam recently, but surely things couldn't be that bad. Could they?
