Noel’s attacker sentenced

When Noel Gallagher was attacked by a stage invader from behind during a gig in Canada in late 2008 it was clear from the off that the Oasis chief was seriously hurt. Fortunately for him, he only broke three ribs in an incident that he described as similar to ‘being hit by a bus’ – but imagine if he couldn’t play guitar again?

Daniel Sullivan, the mad man who did the pushing was sentenced yesterday to 12 months house arrest after pleading guilty to causing bodily harm. Under the terms of the sentence Sullivan hasn’t been banned from attending any gigs and will be allowed to work.

Soon after the attack Sullivan confessed he was depressed and had been heavily intoxicated with alcohol. If only Noel did look back in anger, he may have seen him coming.
