NWA movie could be on the cards

You all remember Boyz N The Hood, right? The seminal 90's film about what it was like to live in Los Angeles' roughest ghettos put director John Singleton up their in the A-list, an opportunity which he subsequently ruined by making turkeys like 2 Fast 2 Furious.

However he might be about to regain his reputation, if he can rediscover his mojo for his latest project: he and Ice Cube are talking about making a film about NWA, the hugely influential 1980s gangster rap record which brought violence and misogyny in the black underclass to the ears of millions of excited white teenagers. Should it come off, and Singleton not balls it up, it could be a superb flick, so finger's crossed eh?

'I can't talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing's come to fruition yet,' he told The Playlist. 'But Cube and I are talking about doing the NWA story. The script is really, really good, and so we're just figuring it out. New Line really want to make it.
