One Adele of an album

Whoever said album sales were dead, clearly didn’t give that memo to Adele. The English singer-songwriter has managed to not only score a triumphant number 1 with her second album ‘21’ but in the process outsell the entire UK album top 10 COMBINED!

The album notched-up a lip-licking 208,000 in it’s first week of sales, which makes it the biggest January album since Arctic Monkey’s seminal debut ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ five years ago. Whilst doing the round to promote her comeback long player Adele said she’s grateful she split up with her boyfriend, for without him she would have written an album about ‘airports, baggage reclaim and hotel rooms’. Shame, we like the sound of that.
