Out of The Darkness

Are they a joke band? Aren’t they a joke band? When it comes to The Darkness, we know two things are true...they don’t think they’re joke and they’re back!

The camp rock outfit split following their 2nd album ‘One Way Ticket to Hell... and Back’ some 5 years ago, but last night (5 June) they made their live comeback. Playing a tiny homecoming gig at the 200-capicity Waterfront venue in Norwich (the band are from neighbouring Lowestoft), they not only played familiar tracks such as ‘Growing On Me’ and ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’, it was the first time the band debuted brand new songs. Presumably for a as-yet-untitled 3rd longplayer.

The band play two more mini gigs this week (Leamington Spa 6 June and the Shepherds Bush Empire 8 June) before heading to this weekend’s Download Festival. Have you missed The Darkness? Don’t answer that, it’s rhetorical.
