Ozzy Osbourne sues Black Sabbath guitarist

Ozzy Osbourne is reported to have filed a lawsuit against his former Black Sabbath band-mate Tony Iommi, claiming that the legendary guitarist illegally claimed sole ownership of the band's name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The bizarre suit was filed in Manhattan last week with the former Black Sabbath singer suing Iommi for 50 percent of the profits that he has made from using the band name. It comes in the wake of a suit pressed by Iommi back in December 2008 against the company Live Nation claiming that they illegally sold merchandise using the Black Sabbath logo after a merchandising deal had expired.

Osbourne's also claims that his vocal style was the primary reason behind the success of the band noting their decline in popularity after he left in 1980. However, there is no explanation as to why Osbourne has waited over 29 years to stake a claim for the legendary band's moniker.
