Pete Doherty to stand trial for dangerous driving

Pete Doherty will stand trial for dangerous driving on December 21 at Gloucester Crown Court. The Babyshambles singer appeared in court yesterday morning and pleaded not guilty to charges of dangerous driving following a gig in Gloucester on 11 June.

The former Libertines frontman admitted to driving without a licence and insurance, drug possession as well as being accused of drink driving but these charges will be dealt with following the singer's trial for dangerous driving.

Judge William Hart described the first charge as being at the "bottom end of the scale" of dangerous driving. The trial in December could last for two or three days.
