Ping Pong Kings

Instead of boozing and taking drugs, Kings of Leon prefer to relax over a game of table tennis while touring.

It seems the sex is no longer on fire for the Followill brothers as they put their wild ways behind them in favour of the sedate games of ping pong and darts.

Singer Caleb Followill told The Sun: ‘We still party a little bit. There's not really drugs involved any more. But we try to make sure that we're on the road with bands we're friends with. So last night, after the show it was us and The Whigs who are our friends as well as support band, in the games room, playing a lot of ping pong and lots of darts.

‘We do that most nights, just hang out, and we'll jam a little bit now and then.’

Very mature. And, to top it all, the rockers are so sensible these days that they’ve given up fisticuffs backstage .

Adds Caleb: ‘It's a little harder to recover now. The older you get, you feel every punch the next day. So I've given up on that... There's the odd headbutt now and then but I'd say we are probably closer than we've ever been this year.’

That probably explains why the dullness of the Kings’ new album.
