Q Awards 2009

It was the 2009 Q Awards yesterday, and as usual there was absolutely nothing of any excitement to report. The happy (back) slapping event held at the Grosvenor House Hotel was packed to the rafters with liggers all chugging away on their free voddies, cokes and Marlboro lights. The usual suspects picked up awards.

Such as... Well actually this year there wasn’t one definitive stand along act (probably because Oasis are no more.) Instead numerous M.O.R. faves shared the love. Muse won ‘Best Act In The World Today', Lily Allen ‘Best Track’ for ‘The Fear’ and Kasabian ‘Best Album’ for ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum'. Q stalwarts U2 looked like stropping off empty handed (God forbid that should ever happen,) so lucky for them a new award ‘Classic Album’ was invented and their ‘classic album’ ‘The Unforgettable Fire’ got the public admiration it so much deserves.
